VODNJAN

Vodnjan's history is quite unique. It has been owned and operated by a number of different cultures over its many centuries. At one point Vodnjan served as the central military base for the Roman empire. But most of this city's soul comes from its centuries of Venetian rule. In the old city, there are numberous Gothic buildings that really give the old city its identity.
